This is clear from the fourth annual Cisco Privacy Maturity Benchmark study , which ahead of Privacy Day reveals greater concern among people about their private data as a result of the pandemic , health controls and the rapid evolution to teleworking. The study - based on the consultation of 4,400 Security and Privacy professionals from 25 countries including Spain - analyzes attitudes towards privacy regulations and the adoption of privacy practices and metrics .

Most respondents agree with sharing health information to ensure workplace safety and pandemic response, but are uncomfortable with other uses. 57% agree that companies use their data to help keep the workplace safe, but less than half support measures such as location tracking, contact tracing, disclosing information about infected people and the use of private information for investigation. Privacy is established as a requirement when betting on digitalization and advancing business objectives. More than 140 countries have already passed framework laws, and almost 80% of respondents worldwide believe that these laws have a positive impact. Investment in privacy remains attractive .
